据新华社报导，台湾地域下层公职人员“九合一”选举于26日停止投票，选举产生县市长、议员以及乡镇长、村里长等。
据台湾当局选务主管机关的票数统计，除嘉义市市长选举因故延期外，在已选举产生的21个县市长中，中国国民党获13席，民进党获5席，公众党获1席，另有2席为无党籍。

据新华社报导，国台办发言人墨凤莲26日晚就台湾地域“九合一”选举成果应询表达，我们留意到此次选举的成果。那一成果反映了岛内“乞降平、求不变、要过好日子”的支流民意。我们将持续连合广阔台湾同胞，配合鞭策两岸关系和平开展、合成开展，增进两岸同胞福祉，坚定反对“台独”团结和外部权力干预，共创中华民族伟大复兴的光亮将来。
The results of the local elections held in Taiwan Saturday revealed that the mainstream public opinion in the island is for peace, stability and a goodlife, a Chinese mainland spokesperson said.
The mainland will continue to work with people of Taiwan to promote peaceful and integrated development of cross-Straits relations, contribute to the wellbeing of people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, firmly oppose "Taiwan independence" and foreign interference, and strive for bright prospects for the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, said Zhu Fenglian, a spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office.
