Fourscore and seven years ago, our fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation,
八十七年前,我们的祖先在那块大陆上成立了个新国度,
conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.
那个国度是以自在为理念,并努力于人生而平等的主张。
Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation,or any nation so conceived and so dedicated,can long endure.
如今我们投身于那场伟大的内战。那个内战在考验那个新国度或是任何一个有不异理念、努力于不异主张的国度能否长久存在。
We are met on a great battle field of that war.
我们相会于那场战争的伟大战场上。
We have come to dedicate a portion of that field as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that that nation might live.
我们来到那里,将那战场上的小块地盘奉献给那些为国度保存而牺牲的人,以做为他们最初安眠之地。
It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.
我们如许做是非常恰当的,也是应该的。
But in a larger sense we cannot dedicate-we cannot consecrate-we cannot hallow-this ground.
但就广义而言,我们却无法奉献那块地盘,无法把那块地盘变得神圣,
The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here, have consecrated it, far above our poor power to add or detract.

因为在此奋战过的勇者,不管是生是死,都已经将那块地盘变得如斯神圣,以致我们单薄的力量实不克不及再对它有所扬抑。
The world will little note, nor long remember, what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here.
我们如今在那里所说的话,世人是不太重视的,过不久城市忘记,但那些勇者在此曾有的表示世人将水远铭刻在心。
It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced.

It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us:
我们其实应该献身于那些勇者所遗留给我们的面前那个伟大使命:
that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion;
那些荣耀过世的先烈们曾为国度大业奉献到底,而我们则应承袭他们的奉献精神,愈加全力以赴;
that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain;
我们决意不计那些先烈白白牺牲;
that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom;
在天主的庇佑之下,自在将在我国重生,
and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.
而那个民有、民治、民享的政府将永存于世。
