從一開始就晓得。
我比来把鬼泣5的英語台詞全抄下來了，可謂對其劇情有了深切細緻的领会。哪位小盆友若是需要，我放到附件里了。（喵了个咪的逼乎的文档附件就是贴鄙人边啊！那算鸡毛附件啊！）
故事的開始是這樣的：
Morrison去Devil May Cry找但丁，發現屋裡黑燈瞎火，丁叔一個人坐在辦公桌前發愣，（這傳奇惡魔獵人混得要多慘有多慘……），於是Morrison跟他帶來分工做，並引見了客戶：
Morrison: Consider your RSVP declined, meet your new client.
那就算你沮絕邀請了。（說的是Patty邀他去生日宴會的事）見見客戶吧。
V走了進來。
（對V）:So, whats your name?
這位，怎麼稱呼？
V:"I have no name, I am but two days old..."（合上詩集）,Just kidding. You can call me "V".
我無名也，生未二日……呵呵，打趣罷了。喚我做我V罷。（漫画里说那个打趣是鸟儿建议他开的，鸟说你跟他开个打趣就算收场白了，成果V说了那么个嘲笑话；那句话也是出自威廉布莱克的诗。）
Dante: Okay,V...Why dont you tell me everything about this job?
那，V，把這樁案子說說吧？
V:A poweful demon is about to resurrect, and we need your help,Dante.
有個強大的惡魔要甦醒了，我們需要你幫助，但丁。
Dante:Hehehehehehehe...Now thats a familiar tune...Do you have any idea how many times Ive heard that exact same line?
呵呵呵呵呵……好耳熟啊。你晓得這種故事我聽過几次了？（丁叔說這句話是因為，按官方漫畫和小說的解釋，此前已經有無數人來拜托丁叔除魔，說有什麼“最強的、最殘忍的”魔王，結果每次丁叔去了三招兩式就解決了，讓他很是绝望，因而丁叔十分希望有個有重量的對手。）
V:This is...special.
這次……差别。
Dante:Special? Okay, so whats so special about this one?
差别？好啊，那這次有什麼差别呢？
V:This demon is your"reason"...Your reason for fighting.
這惡魔是你……戰鬥的意義。
Dante:This demon got a name?
這惡魔叫什麼？
（V吐出個單詞）
這個單詞是無聲的。
但看看就大白：這個單詞先咬嘴唇，然後要噘嘴。
鬼泣中有誰的名需要這樣讀？
——Vergil。
————後來，兩個妞兒帶著他去找Urizen。
丁叔落後了一步，自言自語：

再不久，他趕到Urizen處，目擊Trish和Lady雙雙倒地不起。
他說：

這是千載難逢的兩個不利娘們兒。而我認識的人理，只要一個能擊敗她們。
——lady Trish也是老牌的惡魔獵人了，有誰能輕鬆放倒她們？
再聽丁叔的口吻，他能不晓得對面的是誰嗎？
然後他說：
Jackpot
意思就是：公然，中了。
那麼丁叔曾和誰一路說過“Jackpot”這個詞？玩兒過3的天然都晓得。
由上得出結論，丁叔從一開始就晓得面對的是他哥。
這裡說句題外話：為什麼丁叔會混的那麼慘呢？
鬼泣世界裡有個設定：雖說在玩家的天主視角來看，鬼泣裡各处都是惡魔，但事實是，大部门通俗人是不相信惡魔存在的。因而獵魔是個十分賺錢的活。看看Lady就晓得了。
可既然獵魔這麼賺錢，為什麼丁叔一窮二白？
這是出於一個在遊戲裡並沒有闡明的事：丁叔是個十分仁慈有同情心的人。
鬼泣廣播劇裡有這麼一段劇情：有個叫恩佐的中介人（在獵天使魔女李也有這麼個人名，從事的是類似工做）邀請但丁去摸索一片遺跡，但丁本不想去，拗不過就只好去了，結果恩佐從裡頭背著丁叔偷了一把槍出來，丁叔看見了就問，恩佐打個哈哈糊弄過去了；他把槍拿到別處筹算賣個好價錢，哪晓得，這把槍是魔界出名的製槍師打造的，在談價時把惡魔招來了，惡魔讓他交出槍，恩佐卻發現槍長在手上拿不下來了，在槍的指引下他殺死了惡魔跑到街上，碰到個熟悉的混混，三兩句話沒說好打起來了，這時的恩佐已經讓槍寄生了，失去了理智，在市區大鬧起來；而另一邊廂，丁叔跟Trish一筹议，發現情況不對，趕過去一看，已經晚了，為了避免事態，也為了救恩佐，丁叔不得已打斷了他一双腿。本來這件事跟他半毛錢關系也沒有，但丁叔深感內疚，於是隔三差五就給他送錢去。並且類似這樣的事還不行一件。這才導致丁叔窮得叮噹山響只能找Lady彗錢；至於飯錢，鬼泣5漫畫裡雕兄（Griffon，就是話嘮鳥）表示得很大白了：惡魔是不需要食物的。丁叔吃披薩草莓聖代純粹是興趣罢了。因而他也不怕餓死。換言之，但丁幹獵魔事務所的初志，底子就不是討生活，最后可能是為了找點事幹，到後來就是純粹的助人為樂了。此外，丁叔屋裡黑燈瞎火水電煤氣都停了，但他還在屋裡坐著，這說明什麼？說明Devil May Cry是人家本身的房產！這也很說明問題了。And it grew both day and night, till it bore an apple bright.

（兩把劍交在一路）
Vergil: Defeating you like this has no meaning.
這樣擊敗你全無意義。

去治治傷，但丁，變得更強。

Griffon: Perhaps. But if you have even a little bit of trouble defeating us, imagine what Vergil can do to you. Go see for yourself. Us? This is our final fight… And the end of Vergil’s nightmares.
可能吧。不過如果擊敗我們你都要費點力，想想Vergil會把你怎樣。本身去看吧。至於我們，這是我們最初一戰了……Vergil的噩夢，也就此終結。

（Nero奔驰在Qliphoth的路上，一路跑道路一路崩塌。Nico開著車帶著Trish和Lady疾奔而來。）
Nico: （從駕駛座探出頭）Nero, jump in!
Nero，跳上來！
（車子超過了Nero，Trish打開車門，伸出手，Nero也拼命伸出手，兩隻手相扣，Trish把Nero拉上車。）
Nero: （一上車）Where’s Dante!?
但丁呢！？
Trish: He’s got this. We gotta go now!
他去了結工作了，咱們快走！
Nero: So this guy Vergil, you know him?
那這個Vergil，妳們是認識了？
Trish: Vaguely ,yes.

（車子猛地一晃，Nico拼命把住标的目的。）
Nero: Dante said that guy’s my father… What the hell’s going on, Trish!?
